Lessons for Saskatchewan Visual Arts Courses

Hover over the "lessons" tab to navigate to specific course lessons.  While these lessons are organized by grade level and designed to correlate to specific outcomes in that grade's curriculum, many of the lessons can be adapted for other grades so feel free to explore all the lessons.

Help Build the SAEA Digital Resource Library

Are you interested in sharing your own original lessons on this platform?  If so, here are the steps:
  1. Download a copy of the SAEA lesson plate template.  You can download this fillable PDF form, this Google Slide form, or this PowerPoint form.
  2. Make a copy of the file you download, customize the information required to create your lesson, and save your lesson as a PDF document.
  3. E-mail your saved PDF to saea@sasktel.net with the title "Lesson for Website"
*When using student work as an exemplar please ensure you include the student's full name and the school's name.  Most school divisions require you to collect signed permission forms to publish student work publicly.  Here's an intellectual property permission form you can customize for this purpose.

Assessment Tools

While there are many ways to assess student progress in art classes, one assessment tool that can easily be adapted to various grade levels and courses is the one-point rubric (read about more about it here).  You can download this one-point rubric template and customize it for your lessons.  Included in this document is a 10-point scale you can customize as well as outcomes and indicators for the Visual Art 10, 20, & 30 courses.
